Ever asked for quiet then wanted to shout
Ever said for sure then been racked with doubt
Ever said forever and then walked out

The sun was setting and everyone going home.
We sat on the coarse grass.
Naked feet burrowed in the damp sand.
Cooling air brought us together.
Your shadow fell into mine.
The sun bowed out.
Stars whispered night.
A nocturnal cough from outboard engine.
The fishermen were away.
The fairies likewise.
Leaving the castle to guard our love.
This is a happy place
